The Miami Marlins overcame a four-run deficit to beat the Atlanta Braves 7-6 in 10 innings at Marlins Park on Saturday night. The Marlins have won two of their last nine contests.
There would be no scoring by either team until the eighth inning. Atlanta(69-50) drew first blood when Ozzie Albies hit a ball off Miami(44-72) starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara that ended up in shallow left field for a double and Charlie Culberson scored.
Freddie Freeman came up next for the Braves. He knocked in Ronald Acuna Jr. and Albies with a single into center field.
The Marlins got a tally in the bottom of the frame. Curtis Granderson powered a solo home run over the right-center field wall on a 0-2 pitch for his 10th homer of the season. Brian Anderson later singled into deep right to bring in Jon Berti.
The Braves answered back in the top of the ninth with three runs. Pinch-hitter Johan Camargo smashed a three-run homer to right-center field on a 0-1 count. Brian McCann and Ender Inciarte also scored on the play.
Miami pulled off four runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie it up 6-6. Berti lined a bas hit to center with the bases loaded and Martin Prado crossed the plate. Isan Diaz then singled through the left side which scored Bryan Holaday. Starlin Castro followed and ripped a double into the left-field corner. Granderson and Berti were able to score, however Diaz was tagged out at home.
In the 10th inning, the Fish complete the comeback. Prado hit a sacrifice fly into left field to score Harold Ramirez for the walk-off victory.
