Longtime local sportswriter Christy Chirinos is leaving the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. She will become the new University of Miami Hurricanes athletics senior editor.
Chirinos worked for over a decade as a Broward County high school sports reporter for the Sun-Sentinel. She was promoted to the University of Miami Hurricanes athletics beat writer position in August 2013.
