The Cincinnati Reds dropped the Miami Marlins 6-3 on Monday night at Marlins Park. The Marlins have lost eight of their last 10 games.
The Reds got out in front 1-0 in the top of the third. Josh VanMeter scored on a fielder's choice by Freddy Galvis to second.
Miami(47-83) jumped by them in the bottom of the third. Neil Walker connected with a two-run homer to right-center field which scored Jon Berti.
Cincinnati(61-69) regained the lead during the fifth inning. Galvis blasted a three-run homer to left-center field on the first pitch with Nick Senzel and VanMeter aboard.
Eugenio Suarez had a solo homer to left field in the eighth inning to give the Reds a 5-2. Pinch-hitter Phillip Ervin would add a home run on a 0-0 count in the top of the ninth. Jorge Alfaro chalked up a solo home run for the Marlins in the bottom of the frame.
