The New York Mets shut out the Miami Marlins 5-0 on Tuesday night at Citi Field. The Mets look to go for the four-game sweep on Wednesday.
New York(58-56) moved ahead 1-0 in the first inning. Todd Frazier doubled to deep left field and J.D. Davis crossed the plate.
The Mets extended their margin to four runs during the bottom of the third. Wilson Ramos smashed a three-run homer to center field on a 0-1 pitch. Jeff McNeil and Davis both scored in front of him on the play.
Miami(42-70) surrendered another home run in the fifth inning. Pete Alonso connected with a solo shot to left on a 1-1 count for his 36th homer of the season.
