Florida Panthers forward Aleksi Saarela will be joining Luuko in the Finnish Elite League for the next couple of months. Saarela did play for that club in the 2016-17 season. He will be playing there until the restricted free agent has a new contract with the Panthers.
Saarela was acquired by Florida from the Chicago Blackhawks for Ian McCoshen on October 22, 2019. He played in nine games during the 2019-20 regular season with the Panthers and compiled two goals along with two assists.
