Mets Hook Marlins

The New York Mets downed the Miami Marlins 4-2 at Citi Field on Sunday. The Marlins have lost two straight after winning six consecutive wins.
New York(7-9) got in front 2-0 in the bottom of the third. Jeff McNeil grounded into a fielder's choice to second with the bases loaded and Andres Gimenez scored. Two batters later, Michael Conforto reached base on a fielding error to score Tomas Nido.
In the fourth inning, the Mets made it a three-run margin. Brandon Nimmo drove in Gimenez with a base hit into left field.
Miami(7-3) got their only runs during the top of the fifth. Jesus Aguilar hammered a two-run homer to left field on the first pitch which brought in Jon Berti.
The Mets increased their lead to 4-2 in the sixth inning. Gimenez scored for the third time in the contest when McNeil hit a sacrifice fly to center field.
