Several Miami sportswriters have come together to form the FrontPage305 Podcast. It consists of Manny Navarro, Andre Fernandez and Walter Villa.
The first podcast was initiated on June 27. They were added to SLAM Radio at SiriusXM Radio on August 4 for a live noon program on Tuesdays.
Navarro has worked at The Athletic Miami as the University of Miami Hurricanes athletic program beat writer since September 2018. He previously had a long tenure at the Miami Herald for 23 years. Navarro covered high school sports in Dade County and Broward County followed by being the Miami Heat reporter.
Fernandez recently was the Miami Heat beat reporter for The Athletic Miami from September 2018 to June 2020. Prior to that, he was employed with the Miami Herald as their lead high school sports reporter until early 2018 and elevated to the Miami Marlins beat writer position for the 2018 season.
Villa currently works for the Miami Herald. He has written articles on high school sports, college sports and pro sports at that newspaper.
