Villar joined the Marlins in a trade from the Baltimore Orioles in December 2019. He entered the game on Monday with two home runs and nine runs batted in and .272 batting average in 29 games with Miami this season.
Conine is the son former Miami Marlins outfielder and broadcaster Jeff Conine, a.k.a. Mr. Marlin. He was drafted out of high school by Miami in the 31st round and eventually played college baseball at Duke University.
