Mets Snap Marlins Streak

The Miami Marlins had their six-game winning streak snapped by the New York Mets on Saturday. The Marlins were defeated 8-4 at Citi Field.
Miami(7-2) got on the scoreboard first in the opening inning. Brain Anderson knocked in Jesus Aguilar on a single into center field.
New York(6-9) jumped over them in the bottom of the second to go up 2-1. Michael Conforto connected on a 2-2 count for a two-run homer to right-center field with Pete Alonso scoring in front of him.
The Mets added to their lead in the third inning and were in front 4-1. Alonso smashed a two-run home run to left-center field on the first pitch and J.D. Davis crossed the plate.
In the fifth inning, both teams scored a run. Logan Forsythe hit his first home run in a Marlins uniform on a 1-1 pitch to center. Davis matched it for the Metropolitans on a sacrifice fly into right to bring in Amed Rosario.
The Fish closed it to 5-4 in the top of the sixth. Monte Harrison drove in Corey Dickerson with a base hit to right field for Matt Joyce to score.
A three-run rally was put together by New York in the seventh inning. Davis nailed a three-run homer to right field on the initial pitch. Rosario and Jeff McNeil also scored on the play.
