Hurricanes Blank Panthers

     The Carolina Hurricanes shut out the Florida Panthers 4-0 at PNC Arena on Friday night. The Hurricanes have won a franchise-record 10 consecutive games. 
     It was the final contest of the 2022 calendar year for the Panthers. Florida(16-17-4) will host the New York Rangers on New Year's Day.
     Carolina(24-6-6) led 1-0 at the 7:05 mark on a power-play goal. Stefan Noesen collected his eighth goal of the campaign. 
     The Hurricanes added two more goals with the man advantage during the second period to make it 3-0. Andrei Svechnikov got his 19th goal of the season at 4:58 and Teuvo Teravainen scored his third goal of the year at the 11:55 mark. In the third period, Jesperi Kotkaniemi increased it to a four-goal margin for the Canes as he picked up his sixth goal with 16:10 left.
