Packers Freeze Dolphins

The Green Bay Packers got a 26-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday. It turned out to be the coldest gameday temperature for an NFL contest in Miami since Christmas Eve in 1989 at Joe Robbie Stadium when it was 40 degrees. Miami ended up losing their fourth straight game.
The Dolphins took a 3-0 lead at the 11:10 mark of the first quarter. Jason Sanders was able to kick a 46-yard field goal. The Packers tied it up 3-3 when Mason Crosby booted a 36-yard field goal at 9:26.
Miami(8-7) would get the ball and scored on the first play of their next possession. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw a pass up the middle to wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. He sprinted down the right sideline for an 84-yard touchdown with 9:08 left in the first for a 10-3 lead.
Green Bay(7-8) evened it 10-10 with 4:10 remaining in the quarter. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers tossed a one-yard touchdown pass to tight end Marcedes Lewis on the left side of the end zone during a 4th-and-goal situation.
It became 17-10 for Miami at 10:52 of the second quarter. After Tagovailoa completed a 52-yard pass to wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Packers one-yard line, running back Jeff Wilson Jr. rushed it up the middle from one yard out.
The Fins special teams unit stopped a fake punt on the Packers ensuing drive at the Green Bay 20-yard line. The Dolphins picked up a 34-yard field goal from Sanders for a 20-10 lead with 4:18 to go in the second. Green Bay closed it to 20-13 with two seconds left in the first half on a 46-yard field goal by Crosby.
In the third quarter, the Packers reached the end zone to make it 20-20 at 7:53. Running back A.J. Dillon finished off an 11-play drive as he powered in through the left side of the line from one yard away.
Green Bay defensive back Jaire Alexander intercepted a pass and returned it to the Dolphins 14-yard line just one minute into the fourth quarter. It led to a Crosby 28-yard field goal and the Packers had their first lead of the game 23-20 at the 11:45 mark.
The Packers milked the clock and eventually Crosby kicked a 26-yard field goal with 2:02 left in the fourth for a six-point margin. It was the fourth field goal made by Crosby in the contest. Green Bay defensive back Rasul Douglas made an interception on the Dolphins last possession at the Miami 43-yard line with 1:29 remaining.

  1. The game was played at Joe Robbie Stadium, not the Orange Bowl, game time temp was 38 with a 28 degree temp with wing chill. I was there.
