Cardinal Gibbons(8-2) compiled 14 points in the first quarter and 14 points during the second quarter to go up 28-0 by 'halftime. Pine Crest(4-7) could not keep up in the second half and a running clock was eventually implemented.

Cardinal Gibbons Blanks Pine Crest
The Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs shut out the Pine Crest Panthers 42-0 at Dr. Bud Tight Field on Friday night in a Class 4A regional semifinal. The Chiefs are the defending Class 4A state champions and have captured two state titles in the last three seasons. They will play at Gulliver Prep in a regional final next week.
