Glades Central At American Heritage Preview

It is a renewed Palm Beach County rivalry as the Glades Central Raiders travel to Delray Beach and take on the American Heritage Stallions at The Corral on Friday night in a FHSAA Class 4A first-round game. Both schools were rivals during the previous decade. The winner will visit Lakewood next week.
Glades Central(5-5) had a mediocre regular season compared to their prior seasons. They lost their season finale to their main rival Pahokee 28-0 in the annual Muck Bowl last week. Glades Central, whose longest win streak in two games this year, has fallen on the road in their last three games to playoff-bound teams Booker T. Washington, Vero Beach and Pahokee.
The Raiders will have Garrison Kepley starting at quarterback and Henry Boyd as his backup. Wide receivers Robert Luckas, Aaron Davis, Semaj Demps and Carjuan Perkins look to get open and make pass receptions. Running backs Kienaskia Workman, Everic Morgan and Christopher Young will got their share of rushing opportunities.
American Heritage(5-4) has bounced back after having a dreadful 2020 campaign where they ended up 2-3. Head coach Brian Sheridan passed away during the regular season last year. In addition, running back Trey Rainey transferred back to Boca Raton while quarterback Dylan Rizk moved on to Cardinal Gibbons in the offseason.
The Stallions began the season losing four of their first five games and come into the contest on a four-game winning streak with victories over Cypress Bay, St. John Paul II, Spanish River and Somerset Academy Silver Palms. They have outscored their last four opponents 136-47. Quarterback Joshua Ramos looks to guide their offense down the field. He can connect passes to wide receivers Brandyn Butler, Tavares Parker and Matthew Smicklas. They have a capable backfield with running back Clayton Cannon and D'Mitri Nazaire.
