Dolphins Outpace Texans

     The Miami Dolphins outlasted the Houston Texans 17-9 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. Both teams entered the contest in last place for their divisional races at the midway point of the 2021 regular season. 
     Miami(2-7) moved out to a 7-0 lead with 4:37 left in the first quarter. Running back Myles Gaskin rushed through the right side and scored from six yards away. 
     Houston(1-8) cut it to 7-6 during the second quarter. Ka'imi Fairbairn kicked a 31-yard field goal at 9:48 and a 40-yard field goal at 4:32. 
     The Dolphins finished off the first half strong by adding more points. Jason Sanders booted a 42-yard field goal with 1:08 to go. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett later found wide receiver Mack Hollins on a five-yard touchdown pass in the middle of the end zone to make it 17-6. 
     There was just one scoring play in the second half by the Texans. Fairbairn converted his third field goal of the game which was from 20 yards at the 11:32 mark of the fourth quarter.
