Udonis Haslem And Heat Sink Pelicans

     The Miami Heat overcame the New Orleans Pelicans 113-98 at FTX Arena on Wednesday night. The Heat came off a long five-game road trip against Western Conference teams. The Pelicans entered the contest with the second worst record in the National Basketball Association. 
     Udonis Haslem participated in his first home game this season. Haslem played in just one home game during the 2020-21 regular season which was the season finale.
     New Orleans(2-14) moved out to a 34-21 at the end of the first quarter. The Pelicans stayed in front 52-47 at halftime. Miami(10-5) outscored their opponent 34-18 in the third quarter and led by double-digits 81-70. 
     Jimmy Butler compiled a triple-double with 31 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds for Miami. Haslem was in for seven minutes and had two points with three rebounds. Tyler Herro was able to get 19 points and Max Strus popped in 15 points. Duncan Robinson passed Grant Long for second all-time in Miami Heat franchise history with 162 consecutive games played. 
     Josh Hart dropped in 18 points for the Pelicans. Brandon Ingram had 19 points while Nickeil Alexander-Walker added a team-high 24 points
