Kraken Ends Panthers Home Winning Streak

The Seattle Kraken made their first appearance ever in Sunrise and upset the Florida Panthers 4-1 at FLA Live Arena on Saturday night. Former Panthers goalie Chris Driedger made his return to Sunrise, started in net for the Kraken and picked up the victory.
The loss snapped the Panthers 11-game home winning streak to begin the regular season. Florida will share the all-time NHL record along with the 1963-64 Chicago Blackhawks winning 11 consecutive contests at home to start a season.
Seattle(7-13-1) raced out to a 1-0 lead at the 2:22 mark of the first period. Jordan Eberle lit the lamp with a power-play tally.
Florida(14-4-3) evened it up 1-1 at 6:59. Patric Hornqvist got his third goal of the year on assists from MacKenzie Weegar and Joe Thornton.
The Kraken reclaimed the lead 2-1 with 9:20 left in the first. Ryan Donato was able to collect his third goal of the campaign.
It became 3-1 for Seattle at the 5:57 mark of the third period. Eberle collected his second goal of the game and 11th goal this season. Jamie Oleksiak scored his first goal in a Kraken uniform into an empty net and made it a three-goal margin with 3:25 remaining in the third.
