Vero Beach At Palm Beach Central Preview

The Vero Beach Indians travel south and take on the Palm Beach Central Broncos in a Class 8A regional semifinal game on Friday night. Palm Beach County high schools were placed in Region 3 every year in this classification until 2021 and now are assigned to Region 2.
Vero Beach(7-2) will be visiting Palm Beach County for a second straight time. The Indians knocked off Forest Hill 46-14 in a regional quarterfinal last week. They have been victorious in their last three contests and outscored their opponents 365-210 this season.
The Indians will have quarterback Maurice Smith call the signals. He can connect passes to wide receivers Ephraim Floyd, Vandrevius Jacobs and James Smith. Running backs Reggie Ferguson, Quincy Rodgers and Jaquone Jean led the way on their rushing attack from the backfield.
Palm Beach Central(9-0) was the only undefeated Palm Beach County school during the regular season. The Broncos have outscored their opponents 366-133 this year. They easily defeated Centennial 41-9 last week in a regional quarterfinal. Palm Beach Central is the top seed in Region 2 and have the home-field advantage through the first three rounds of the FHSAA Playoffs.
The Broncos will look toward quarterback Ahmad Haston to guide their offense down the field. Wide receivers Javorian Wimberly, Luby Maurice Jr., Justin Bostic, Aidan Whitehall and Cody Wasielewski can make pass receptions from him. Park Vista transfer Markel King along with Aldorson Estinvil, Tyler Young and Devin Wygant are running backs that are expected to carry the ball.
