FHSAA South Florida Playoff Game Results

South Florida high school football teams played in the later rounds of the 2020 FHSAA Playoffs. The small schools were involved in the state semifinals while the large schools participated in the regional finals.
All seven representatives from the tri-county region won this weekend. The big surprise was that six of the teams were victorious on the road.
Miami Palmetto was able to edge Vero Beach 10-7 in Class 8A. The Panthers return home to Traz Powell Stadium next week and will take on Osceola.
St. Thomas Aquinas was the only local team that played at home this week and they handled Venice 29-8. The Raiders will return to the road to challenge Bloomingdale in Class 7A.
Miami Central was back in southwest Florida for the second straight week in Class 6A and blanked Dunbar 40-0. The Rockets will again be on the road and visit Palmetto.
American Heritage traveled up the east coast again and beat Eau Gallie 38-18 in Class 5A. The Patriots will return home to Plantation and play Jesuit next week.
Cardinal Gibbons went up to Cocoa and won 45-15. The Chiefs, who look to win their second state title in three years, will participate in the Class 4A state championship game in Tallahassee against Bolles in two weeks.
Chaminade-Madonna held on to defeat Berkeley Prep 23-21 in Tampa this week. The Lions will attempt to capture their fourth consecutive Class 3A state championship in a couple of weeks versus Trinity Christian Academy.
Champagnat Catholic was on the road and routed Seffner Christian 56-14. The Lions look to repeat as Class 2A state champions against University Christian in Tallahassee.
