The Glades Central Raiders head to Fort Lauderdale and challenge the Dillard Panthers at Otis Gray Jr. Memorial Stadium on Friday night. It is a second-round game in the Class 6A-1A gold bracket of the South Florida Tri-County football tournament between #3 Glades Central and #2 Dillard.
Glades Central(5-0) had smashed through their competition during the 2020 season and have outscored their opponents 176-26 this year. The Raiders shut out Palm Beach Central 41-0, routed Royal Palm Beach 46-6, shut out Pahokee 38-0 in the Muck Bowl and knocked off Park Vista 35-7 during the regular season. They hosted their first home game this season in Belle Glade last week and edged Booker T. Washington 16-13 in the first round. Quarterback Zomarion Harper intends to connect passes to wide receivers Carjuan Perkins, Antavious Tarver, Ro"Quan Porter, Aaron Davis, Robert Luckas, Deiondre Scott and Jamaree Bryant. Running backs Desmond Washington, Jaheim Humphries and Jamari Steward will get their share of rushing opportunities.
Dillard(4-0) easily handled Pahokee 49-6 last week in the first-round clash. The Panthers defeated Fort Lauderdale 42-20 in the first game ever played at the Inter Miami CF Stadium complex, dismantled McArthur 58-6 and smashed Blanche Ely 38-0 in the Soul Bowl during the regular season. They have outscored their opponents 187-32 this season.
