Miami Central Pounds Lake Minneola For 6A Title

     The Miami Central Rockets blasted the Lake Minneola Hawks 46-0 in the FHSAA Class 6A state title game at Doak Campbell Stadium on Friday. The Rockets won their second straight Class 6A state championship and their seventh state title overall. 
     Miami Central(7-1) scored at the 6:36 mark of the first quarter to go up 6-0. Quarterback Keyone Jenkins fired a 16-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Zaylan Reese in the middle of the field. 
     The Rockets increased their lead to 12-0 with 3:55 to go in the first. Jenkins connected a 24-yard pass to wide receiver Robert McMinn in the back right corner of the end zone. 
     It became an 18-point margin for Miami Central late in the first quarter. Running back Amari Daniels raced around the right end from 14 yards away. 
     In the second quarter, the Rockets made it 24-0 at the 8:51 mark. Jenkins found wide receiver Yulkeith Brown on the right side of the end zone on an eight-yard toss.
     Lake Minneola(11-2) surrendered another score with 3:58 left in the second and they trailed 32-0. Running back Ghana Oboh busted through the left side of the line from three yards out for a touchdown and then reached the end zone on a two-point conversion run.
     Miami Central extended their lead to 40-0 at the 9:40 mark of the third quarter and a running clock was implemented for the rest of the contest. Daniels walked in untouched up the middle from one yard out.
