Kings Walk By Panthers

     The Florida Panthers began a seven-game road trip and were topped by the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 in a shootout at Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night. The Panthers had their winning streak of five games end. 
     The Cats now have a 30-0-1 record when leading after two periods. The Kings ended up sweeping the season series between both clubs. 
     Los Angeles(33-20-8) got out ahead 1-0 with 8:10 left in the first period. Quinton Byfield steered the puck ahead from the neutral zone. Rasmus Kupari slashed across the high slot area and backhanded a shot from the left circle by Spencer Knight for his fourth goal of the campaign. Jordan Spence picked up his first career point on the play in his third NHL game. 
     Florida(40-13-6) tied it up 1-1 on a shorthanded goal 43 seconds into the second period. Jonathan Huberdeau angled a centering pass at the red line. Eetu Luostarinen skated into the Kings zone, snapped a shot from the slot past Jonathan Quick and delivered his ninth goal of the season. It was Huberdeau's league-leading 65th assist of the regular season. He is now tied in the National Hockey League with 83 points this season. Luostarinen chalked up his first career NHL shorthanded goal. 
     The Panthers leaped to a 2-1 lead at the 3:44 mark. Aleksander Barkov skated with the puck from the right wing to the top of the zone. His wrist shot went off Patric Hornqvist in the crease area and Brandon Montour scored on a forehand shot from the low slot for his seventh goal this season. Barkov has one goal and 10 assists in the last five games. 
     In the third period, the Kings evened it up 2-2 with 31.7 seconds left in regulation. They pulled their goalie on the power play for a 6-on-4 situation. Martin Frk got his second goal of the year on a feed by Sean Durzi.  
     The contest went into a shootout. Barkov converted in the second round for Florida with a shot between the legs of Quick. Adrian Kempe responded with a tally in the third round for Los Angeles with a snap shot. Trevor Moore won it in the fifth round  for the Kings as he scored and Anthony Duclair was stopped.
