Panthers Drive By Red Wings

     The Florida Panthers closed out a five-game homestand with a 6-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night at FLA Live Arena. The Panthers play nine of their next ten games on the road. 
     The Panthers leaped over the Tampa Bay Lightning for first place in the Atlantic Division. The Red Wings are 15 points behind for the final wild-card spot. 
     Florida(37-13-5) jumped out to a 1-0 lead on the 13th goal of the season by Mason Marchment at the 4:10 mark of the first period. Detroit(24-26-6) evened it up 1-1 as Robby Fabbri scored his 16th goal of the year at 7:10. 
     The Panthers got a pair of power-play goals later in the frame to make it 3-1. Anthony Declair compiled his 21st goal with nine minutes remaining and Anton Lundell placed in his 13th goal this season with 1:58 to go.  
     The Cats dominated the second period with three goals and extended their lead to 6-1. Sam Bennett nailed his 24th goal of the season at 7:54. Lucas Carlsson collected his third tally of the year with 8:59 left and Lundell put in his second goal of the contest with 3:47 remaining.
