Panthers Blank Ducks

     The Florida Panthers pounded the Anaheim Ducks 3-0 at Honda Center on Friday night. Spencer Knight chalked up his first NHL shutout in his 27th career game. 
     The Panthers will have six days off then continue their seven-game road trip at the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. The Ducks began a three-game homestand. 
     Florida(42-14-6) charged out to the 2-0 lead during the first period. Jonathan Huberdeau go his 20th goal of the campaign on the man advantage with 6:06 left. Sam Reinhart and Anthony Duclair were credited with the assists. 
     Huberdeau added his 21st goal of the season with less than seven seconds remaining in the frame. Aleksander Barkov and Mason Marchment picked up the assists on the play. 
     Anaheim(27-26-11) surrendered another tally at the 3:44 mark of the second period and trailed 3-0. Joe Thornton burned his former division rival with his fifth goal this season. It was set up by Carter Verhaeghe and Noel Acciari.
