Panthers Stomp Blackhawks

Sergei Bobrovsky collected his 37th career shutout as the Florida Panthers rolled by the Chicago Blackhawks 4-0 on Thursday night at FLA Live Arena. Florida set a franchise record with their 28th home victory of the season. The club's previous high with 27 home wins during the 2017-18 season.
Jonathan Huberdeau passed Jon Juneau with his 71st assist of the regular season as a left wing and set a new NHL all-time record. The Cats improved at home to 28-6-0 this season.
The Panthers completed a short two-game homestand. They will play two road games this weekend at New Jersey and Buffalo.
Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews played in his 1,000th NHL game. He is the 12th active player to do that with one franchise.
In the first period, Florida(46-15-6) took a 1-0 with 1:36 remaining. Aleksander Barkov scored his 30th goal of the season from the left circle on assists from Gustav Forsling and Carter Verhaeghe. Barkov reached the 30-goal mark for the second time of his NHL career. He accomplished the feat in 2018-19 with 35 goals.
The Panthers made it 2-0 at the 7:23 mark of the second period. Radko Gudas poked the puck away in his own zone and Joe Thornton angled a lead pass. Ryan Lomberg raced down the ice from the Panthers blue line and snapped a shot from the inner right circle past Collin Delia. Lomberg has five goals in his last six games.
Chicago(24-34-10) trailed 3-0 with 8:14 left in the second. Mason Marchment passed from the right corner and it was deflected by Sam Reinhart in the slot area. Forsling released a wrist shot from the top of the zone for his third goal of the 2021-22 campaign. It ended up being Reinhart's 40th assist of the season.
The Panthers increased it to 4-0 on a 5-on-3 power-play goal with 6:13 to go in the third period. Huberdeau slid the puck from the high slot and Barkov blasted a one-time slap shot from the right-circle dot for his second tally of the contest. Reinhart was credited with the secondary assist. Huberdeau set an all-time NHL record with his 71st assist as a left wing in a season.
