Panthers Blank Senators

     The Florida Panthers shut out the Ottawa Senators 3-0 on Thursday night at FLA Live Arena. The Cats were able to snap a three-game home losing streak. Sergei Bobrovsky compiled his 36th career shutout and third with the Panthers organization.      
     Jonathan Huberdeau had his 10-game assist streak snapped. The Panthers finish off their five-game homestand against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night. 
     Florida(36-13-5) made it 1-0 on the man advantage at the 10:04 mark of the first period. Sam Bennett released a wrist shot from the high slot which was saved by Anton Forsberg. Patric Hornqvist tapped the puck and Mason Marchment swept it in with his right skate on the edge of the blue paint for his 12th goal of the campaign. 
     In the third period, the Panthers increased it to 2-0 at 3:09 on another power-play tally. Brandon Montour took a slap shot from the top of the zone and it was stopped, Marchment had his forehand shot from the right of the crease saved and then Hornqvist pushed in the puck from the top of the crease for his eighth goal this season. 
     Ottawa(19-29-5) surrendered another goal just 12 seconds later and trailed 3-0.  Eetu Luostarien backhanded it from the slot area. Frank Vatrano blasted a shot from the low right circle and Ryan Lomberg put in the rebound from blue paint for his fifth goal of the seaosn.
