Hagg was dealt by the Philadelphia Flyers to the Buffalo Sabres for Rasmus Ristolainen prior to the 2021-22 NHL season. He ended up with one goal and seven assists in 48 contests with Buffalo. Hagg was with the Flyers for five seasons and participated in 236 games from 2016-17 until 2020-21.
