For the first time in two weeks, the Miami Heat entered a game with a healthy roster as they edged the Boston Celtics 109-101 at American Airlines Arena on Friday night. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were held out by the Celtics due to injuries as the Heat pushed their home record to 35-4.
LeBron James put down 20 points along with nine assists and six rebounds in 29 minutes of play. Dwyane Wade, who missed the last six games, had 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 34 minutes. Chris Bosh contributed 17 points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes. The Heat got tremendous output off the bench as Rashard Lewis scored 19 points, Ray Allen drained in 17 points and Norris Cole threw in 12 points.
Jeff Green dropped in a team-high 25 points with eight rebounds in 36 minutes while Brandon Bass fell short of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds in 34 minutes. Jordan Crawford scored 20 points and Courtney Lee had 18 points.
Boston(40-39) scored the first six points on the contest and they held a 27-17 lead after one quarter. Miami(63-16) bounced back from a double-digit deficit as they outscored the C's 41-23 in the second quarter and were ahead 58-50 at halftime. The Heat held the lead throughout the third quarter and were up 87-75 at the end of the period. The Celtics got no closer than eight points at the end of the final quarter.
