The Miami Heat took a 2-0 lead in their first-round playoff series over the Milwaukee Bucks with a 98-86 victory at American Airlines Arena on Tuesday night. Game 2 was much closer than game 1 two nights ago as both teams could not break away from each other throughout most of the contest.
Neither team led by more than five points in the opening quarter as Miami was up 25-23 after one period. Milwaukee stayed within striking distance in the second quarter, but they were behind at halftime 47-43.
The Heat were able to get the margin up to eight points near the end of the third and had a 68-65 lead going into the final quarter. The Bucks could not amount a comeback as they were down by 19 points at 98-79 with 2:01 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Dwyane Wade led the charge for Miami with 21 points and seven rebounds in 32 minutes of play. LeBron James added 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists in 39 minutes while Chris Bosh contributed 10 points and six rebounds in 32 minutes. The Heat got reserve scoring by Shane Battier and Chris Andersen as both drained down 10 points each.
Mike Dunleavy came off the bench for the Bucks as he had 16 points, five assists and six rebounds in 25 minutes. Ersan Ilyasova knocked down 21 points with six rebounds in 29 minutes and Larry Sanders dropped in 14 points and six rebounds in 28 minutes.
