Phillies Outlast Marlins

The Philadelphia Phillies got two runs in the tenth inning to defeat the Miami Marlins 3-1 on Friday night at Marlins Park. The Marlins remain winless at home so far this season as they lost their fourth straight game at home.
Both teams scored one run during the sixth inning. Philadelphia(5-5) got a one-out double by Ryan Howard into the right-center field gap off Ricky Nolasco and advanced to third on a ground out by Michael Young to shortstop. Domonic Brown drove Howard in on a double to left field for a 1-0 lead.
Miami(1-9) responded quickly and tied the contest in the bottom of the frame. Juan Pierre was hit by a pitch from John Lannan with one out and went to second on a Donovan Solano ground out to shortstop. Pierre scored on a single to left field by Placido Polanco against his former team.
The Phillies got a rally in the tenth inning started against Jon Rauch when Ben Revere got a base hit to right field with one out. Two batters later, Chase Utley tripled to deep right field and knocked in Revere. Howard was intentionally walked then Utley crossed the plate on an infield single by Young.
Rauch took the loss as he allowed two runs on three hits in one inning pitched. Nolasco went six innings for the Fish and gave up one run on seven hits while Lannan also pitched six innings for the Phils as he surrendered one run on three hits.
