John Renshaw WQAM Middays

South Florida Sport broke the story back on March 6 and Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM made an official announcement that John Renshaw, a.k.a. The Freak, will start as the new midday host as of April 22. Renshaw replaces Dan Sileo who was let go by WQAM on March 4. Kevin Rogers and Brandon Guzio filled in the midday shift on an interim basis and will return to the evening shift as of Monday. Alex Dunno will be Renshaw's sidekick and sports anchor on the midday show.
Renshaw was named a weekend host at WQAM in late August 2012. He first appeared on the station in mid-August as a fill-in host. Renshaw worked with current WQAM afternoon host and program director Jorge Sedano as an afternoon host on 1700 The Fan WAFN-AM in Miami from 1999 to 2000.
The announcement to promote Renshaw was delayed by WQAM because things had to be ironed out over several jobs he held in the Louisville media market. In addition, the University of Louisville Cardinals basketball team won the NCAA national championship in early April. He was an afternoon sports host at WQKC-AM, a late night studio host for a sports show at WBKI-TV and a talk host on Louisville Sports Buzz.com. He previously was an afternoon sports host in that same market at WQKC-FM.
Prior to his first stint in Miami, Renshaw was a sports host at WHB-AM in Kansas City and an afternoon host for One-On-One Sports based in Chicago. After he was let go by WAFN, he worked at Fox Sports Radio in Los Angeles as a sports host then went to Tallahassee and was employed by WUTL-FM as a sports host.
