Miami/Fort Lauderdale Ratings March 2013

790 The Ticket WAXY-AM was the top rated sports station in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale region for the third consecutive month. Their margin of victory remained the same over Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM.
It was a continued bump in the ratings for 790 The Ticket as they went from a 1.0 to a 1.1. The station picked up additional social buzz with the Miami Heat as they compiled a long string of victories during their 27-game winning streak which got an increased audience. During that time span the team clinched the Southeast Division and best record in the Eastern Conference. The Miami Marlins also began spring training games in Jupiter.
WQAM also improved for the third straight month during March as they climbed from a 0.8 to a 0.9. The University of Miami Hurricanes basketball team finished off their best season in school history as they won the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title and tournament. In addition, the station got a boost with Kevin Rogers and Brandon Guzio in the midday shift as they replaced Dan Sileo who was let go in early March.
104.3 The Ticket WAXY-FM remained flat for the third consecutive month with a 0.7 in March. The station still had the problem of broadcasting repeated shows of their morning show and afternoon show with Dan LeBatard. An audience will not listen to a show that is out-of-date or several days old. This was the final month that the transmitter signal was based in Palm Beach County.
940 The Sports Animal WINZ-AM finally stopped their drop of loss audience for the last several months as they stayed at a 0.2. The station has tried to emphasize the Miami Dolphins while it is the off-season. In addition, the audience has began to get use to the new lineup that was implemented in early January.
