The Los Angeles Dodgers held off the Miami Marlins 2-1 at Dodger Stadium on Friday night. It was the first game of a road trip for the Fish. The Dodgers have the best record while the Marlins have the worst record in the National League this season.
In the fourth inning, Miami(36-59) got up 1-0. Jorge Alfaro got a double into left-center field for Harold Ramirez to score.
Los Angeles(65-35) overtook the Fish in the bottom of the sixth. They had the bases loaded when Cory Seager grounded into a fielder's choice for Alex Verdugo to cross the plate. Kike Hernandez followed and hit the ball to second where Starlin Castro made a fielding error. Justin Turner scored and gave the Dodgers a 2-1 lead.
