The Los Angeles Dodgers handled the Miami Marlins 10-6 on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium. Clayton Kershaw struck out ten Marlin batters and allowed just two hits in six innings of work, however he did not chalk up the winning decision. The Marlins have won only four of their last 14 games.
The Dodgers would put together six unanswered runs for a big margin. Joc Pederson cracked a solo home run to right field on a 2-0 pitch in the first inning for his 22nd homer of the campaign.
In the bottom of the fourth, Los Angeles(66-35) added four more runs. Austin Barnes doubled to deep left field for Cody Bellinger and Corey Seager to score. Kershaw followed with a base hit into center field which scored Barnes.
They made it 6-0 in the fifth inning. Justin Turner homered to center field on a 1-0 count. Max Muncy later knocked in Bellinger on a double to deep left.
After Kershaw was taken out of the game, Miami(36-60) finally got their first run in the top of the seventh. Stalin Castro powered a solo home run to left-center field for his eighth of the year.
The Marlins came back to tie the contest with five more runs in the eighth inning. Jorge Alfaro hit a sacrifice fly to right field and Bryan Holaday reached home. Brian Anderson drove in Curtis Granderson and Yadier Rivera with a double to left-center field. Kike Hernandez then made a throwing error on a possible infield double play for Garrett Cooper and Anderson to score.
Los Angeles regained the lead in the bottom of the frame. Matt Beaty blasted a three-run homer to right field on a 1-1 pitch and they moved ahead 9-6. Seager and Barnes scored in front of him on the play. Russell Martin later stroked a single to left for Hernandez to cross the plate.
