The Miami Marlins dealt some of their pitching staff on Wednesday. They traded Trevor Richards and Nick Anderson to the Tampa Bay Rays for pitcher Ryne Stanek and outfielder Jesus Sanchez.
Richards has been a starting pitcher with Miami for the past two seasons. He had a 3-12 record, 103 strikeouts and a 4.50 earned-run-average in 23 appearances this year.
Anderson was used as a relief pitcher this year in his rookie season. He hurled in 45 games, struck out 69 batters and had a 3.92 earned-run-average.
Stanek currently leads the majors this season with 27 pitching starts. He holds a 0-2 mark with a 3.40 earned-run-average with the Rays during this campaign.
