Marlins Fired On By Nationals

The Miami Marlins were defeated by the Washington Nationals 5-2 on Thursday at Nationals Park. The Fish increased their losing streak to five games. The 11:06 AM start was the earlier time ever to begin a contest in Marlins franchise history.
Things began well for Miami(32-53) on their first at-bat of the contest. Miguel Rojas powered a lead-off home run to left-center field on a 2-2 pitch for his first homer of the season.
In the second inning, the Marlins expanded their lead to 2-0. Rojas hit a fielder's choice to shallow center for J.T. Riddle to score.
Washington(45-41) answered back in the bottom of the second. Kurt Suzuki walloped a solo home run to left field on a 2-2 count for his 10th homer of the campaign. The Nats have homered in a franchise-record 18th straight game.
The same exact circumstance happened in the fourth inning. Anthony Rendon connected with his 20th home run of the season to left field on a 3-2 pitch.
The Nationals took their first lead of the contest 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth. Rendon knocked in Gerardo Parra on a single to center field.
It became 5-2 in the sixth inning for the Nats. Parra doubled to deep right-center field which brought in Victor Robles and Trea Turner.
