The New York Mets got by the Miami Marlins 4-2 at Marlins Park on Saturday night. The Fish have fallen in six of their last eight games.
In the third inning, New York(41-51) jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Michael Conforto smashed a two-run homer to right field on a 1-0 pitch. Jeff McNeil was able to score in front of him on the play.
Miami(34-56) evened the contest during the bottom of the fourth. Harold Ramirez drove in Neil Walker on a double to left. Jorge Alfaro followed with a triple to deep right field and Ramirez crossed the plate.
The Mets regained the lead in the eight inning. Robinson Cano belted a two-run home run to right field on a 1-1 count and Dominic Smith also scored.
