The Florida Panthers have signed left wing Joel Lowry to a one-year deal for the National Hockey League minimum $700,000. He is the son of Dave Lowry, who played during the Panthers first five seasons from 1993-94 to 1997-98. His brother Adam Lowry is currently with the Winnipeg Jets.
Lowry has played for the Springfield Thunderbirds, the Panthers American Hockey League affiliate, for the past two seasons. He had 10 games and 20 assists in 55 games for them in 2018-19. Lowry played college hockey from 2011-12 to 2014-15 with Cornell University.
