The groundbreaking of the building happened in May 2021. Panthers Chief Executive Officer Matthew Caldwell mentioned during a press conference earlier this year in April that construction delays had the project behind and they would push the opening of the facility from the summer to the fall.
The Panthers are leaving their longtime practice headquarters at the Coral Springs Ice Complex off Sample Road. They have been located there since the late 1990s.
Baptist Health IcePlex will be the third home practice facility that the franchise has used in their 30-year history. The first place that the club practiced at was the Gold Coast Arena in Pompano Beach.
