Islanders Stun Panthers

     The Florida Panthers lost to the New York Islanders 4-3 at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday night. The Panthers, who began a three-game homestand, will not play for four days and challenge the Dallas Stars on Wednesday. 
     New YorkI(10-7-6) broke out to a 1-0 lead on the power play with 7:24 to go in the first period. Anders Lee put in his fifth tally of the year on a deflected shot. 
     Florida(14-8-2) tied it 1-1 with 6:18 remaining in the first. Sam Reinhart chalked his team-high 16th goal of the season with a wrist shot. 
     The Islanders added two goals in the second period to take a 3-1 lead. Pierre Engvail scored his third goal of the campaign at 4:37 on a wrist shot. It became a two-goal margin when Simon Holmstrom snapped a shot at the 9:12 mark. 
     The Cats closed it to 3-2 with 6:46 left in the period. Matthew Tkachuk released a snap shot from the top right circle and ended a 10-game goal drought with his fourth goal this season. 
     In the third period, the Isles moved ahead 4-2 at the 3:43 mark. They regained a two-goal gap when Julien Gauthier put in a wrist shot to get his first tally this year. 
     The Panthers cut it to 4-3 at 9:36 of the third. Carter Verhaeghe found the net with a backhand shot for his 11th goal of the season.
