Monarch(11-3) raced out to a 7-0 lead three minutes into the contest. Mandarin(11-3) responded with a touchdown late in the first quarter, however they failed on a two-point conversion and they were down 7-6 lead. The Mustangs booted a field goal with three minutes left in the second quarter and had a 9-7 halftime lead.
There were four lead changes during the third quarter and Mandarin led 24-21. The Mustangs found the end zone four times in the fourth quarter to put the contest away.
