Martin was once the head coach of the Florida Panthers from 2005-06 until 2007-08. The team did not make the postseason during his three-season tenure. He had a 110-100-36 record with the Panthers.

Jacques Martin Senators Interim Head Coach
The Ottawa Senators have fired head coach D.J. Smith. Jacques Martin has been elevated to the interim head coach position. Martin recently was added as a senior advisor to the Senators coaching staff back on December 6. He previously was the Senators head coach from 1996 to 2004.
