Udonis Haslem Number 40 To Be Retired

     The Miami Heat will retire the number 40 jersey of longtime forward Udonis Haslem. It will be done during a halftime ceremony on January 19 between the Heat and the Atlanta Hawks at Kaseya Center. 

     Haslem will be the eighth number to be retired by the Heat. It will join Alonzo Mourning(33), Tim Hardaway(10), Shaquille O'Neal(32), Chris Bosh(1) and Dwyane Wade(3). Michael Jordan(23) and Bill Russell(6) were retired by the organization, however they never played with the Heat. 

      It was a long tenure for Haslem with Miami. He played all 20 NBA seasons with the franchise. Haslem helped them to three NBA titles in 2006, 2012 and 2013. He also was on seven Eastern Conference championship squads in 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2020 and 2023.
