Dan Sileo has been let go as the midday host by 640 Sports WMEN-AM for twitter remarks about a Florida State University football player. He had a short stint with them that lasted four months. Andy Slater moved back to his original midday shift from noon until 3p.m. as of Monday. He was the midday host there from April 2011 until late July 2013. Slater had lost one hour of his show and went to an early afternoon shift from 1 to 3p.m. when Sileo was promoted this past August.
Sileo received a one-week tryout in early July that was eventually expanded through the rest of the month. He was promoted to the midday host position in early August by the station.
It had been a rough 19 months for Sileo in South Florida. He was hired by Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM in April 2012 when he replaced Sid Rosenberg as the afternoon host. He was moved to the midday shift in early September 2012 when Jorge Sedano took over afternoon drive.
Sileo also added post-game studio analyst duties on the Miami Hurricanes Radio Network for the 2012 season. He lost that position in early January and was suspended in late January for two days due to twitter remarks about Erin Andrews of Fox Sports. He was later fired by WQAM in early March.
