The District 7-3A tiebreaker will be played in West Palm Beach on Monday night between the Cardinal Newman Crusaders, American Heritage Stallions and Pahokee Blue Devils. Cardinal Newman is the host due to their better regular season record. The Crusaders and Stallions represented the district last season in the FHSAA playoffs.
American Heritage and Pahokee will take the field for the first one-quarter game. The winner then would face Cardinal Newman in the second one-quarter game. The team that wins that session would be crowned district champion. Should the Crusaders lose, they would take on the loser of the first one-quarter game for the district runner-up spot.
Cardinal Newman(6-3, 2-1) lost last week to American Heritage in Delray Beach and snapped their six-game winning streak. They will be led in the tiebreaker by wide receiver Travis Rudolph who leads Palm Beach County in receptions and receiving yards. Quarterback Daniel Cole looks to hand the ball off to several running backs which includes Erick Hartnett, Thomas Talenti, Arrian Parham and Jeramey Worthen.
American Heritage(5-3, 2-1) is riding a season-high two-game win streak as they head into the tiebreaker. The Stallions are loaded in the backfield with numerous rushing options that include quarterback Warren Robinson and running backs Devin Singletary and Sha'corey Foster. Wide receivers Desmond Cain and Trenard Davis will look to get open downfield.
Pahokee(6-3, 2-1) won five of their first six games to begin the regular season and recently lost two of their last three games. Quarterback Rashaun Croney looks to throw the ball to wide receivers Dontrell Johnson, Malik Thornton, Khalil Patrick and Antone Paige. Running backs Jay Hopson and McArthur Bernett will get their share of carries for the Blue Devils.
