LeBron James became the fifth player in NBA history to score double digits in 500 consecutive games as the Miami Heat beat the Toronto Raptors 104-95 on Tuesday night at Air Canada Centre. James joined Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Moses Malone, Michael Jordan and Karl Malone to accomplish that milestone.
The Heat won their first road game this season after they fell to the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets last week. Miami improved to 3-2 this season and have an over .500 percentage record for the first time since they won their home opener against the Chicago Bulls.
James had a team-high 35 points and eight rebounds in 36 minutes of play. Dwyane Wade compiled 20 points, five assists and six rebounds in 34 minutes. The only other Heat player that scored in double digits was Ray Allen with 14 points.
Toronto(2-2) had balanced scoring in there lineup as four starters had at least ten points. DeMar Derozan led the way with 21 points and Jonas Valanciunas added 18 points. Rudy Gay and Kyle Lowry both poured in 13 points for the Raptors.
