Hochman and Castleberry Leave The Ticket

Several moves have occurred at 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM and 104.3 The Ticket WAXY-FM this week that will have an impact on them over the next couple of months. Marc Hochman is leaving his morning co-host spot with The Ticket to join Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM. In addition, program director Tod Castleberry has been let go from his position at Lincoln Financial Media.
Hochman, a University of Miami grad, worked as a disc jockey at 95.5 The Shark and 98.7 The Gator WGTR-FM in Palm Beach County during the 1990's and early 2000's. He became the afternoon producer of the Dan LeBatard Show when 790 The Ticket flipped to a sports format in August 2004.
He would later pick up the title of executive producer of that show and added duties as the program director at WAXY from September 2009 until December 2011. Hochman was given the opportunity to co-host the morning show on an interim basis with Jon Weiner, a.k.a Stugotz, from early May 2012 until July 2012. He left the Dan LeBatard Show in August 2012 when he began to co-host the morning show on a permanent basis with Jonathan Zaslow.
Castleberry joined 790 The Ticket in late March 2012. They were the top-rated sports station in Miami with him in charge from April to July 2012 even with the loss of Jorge Sedano and an interim lineup during that summer. They would finish second in the market for three months from September to November 2012 when Sedano became the program director and afternoon host at WQAM. 790 The Ticket would return on to the top spot for six consecutive months from January until June 2013. After both stations tied in the ratings for the next two months, sister-station 104.3 The Ticket became the top station over the last two months.
He was based in Washington D.C. during his broadcasting career prior to his move to Miami. Castleberry was vice president of operations and programming at WTEM-AM and Red Zebra Broadcasting. He was once the vice president of operations for Clear Channel Washington D.C. Prior to taking the program director position at Lincoln Financial Media in Miami, he was the executive producer of the John Riggins Show on Mid-Atlantic Sports Network(MASN) and WTOP HD-3.
