Heat Erase Magic

Even with Dwyane Wade sitting out a second straight game, the Miami Heat came out on top with a 120-92 victory over the Orlando Magic at Amway Center on Wednesday night. It was the most points scored by the Heat in a game this season. Rashard Lewis participated in his 1,000th NBA game. LeBron James made his 5.000th career free throw and became the fastest ever to reach that milestone in NBA history.
Miami(9-3) began the game with 16 consecutive points and were up 16-0 until Orlando(4-7) went on a 20-9 spurt to close the gap down to 25-20 after one quarter. The Magic would get their first lead of the game at 32-31 with 7:54 left in the second quarter. The Heat then hit a 22-13 run late in the second and were up 54-44 with 1:34 to go.
The Magic was down 54-49 at halftime and it would get worse for them. The Heat scored nine unanswered points to go up 84-64 with 1:57 remaining in the third quarter. Miami outscored Orlando 36-22 during the third and extended their margin to 20 points. The Heat brought in the reserves for the entire final quarter and they still drove the gap up to 30 points. It was the fifth time this season that Miami scored at least 110 points in a game.
James had a team-high 21 points with seven assists and six rebounds in 29 minutes of play for the Heat while Chris Bosh added 18 points. James Jones got a start when Wade was held out and compiled 17 points in 20 minutes. Mario Chalmers contributed nine points and eight assists for Miami.
