The Boston Celtics held off the Miami Heat 96-90 at American Airlines Arena on Saturday night. It was the fourth game of a six-game home stand for the Heat, who lost their second straight game.
Miami(2-3) started out ahead 26-21 after one quarter. Boston(4-2) bounced back with an 18-6 run and were up 47-45 by halftime. The C's outscored the Heat 27-18 in the third and led by double digits 74-63 at the end of the quarter. Miami cut into the deficit slightly in the final quarter, however it was too late.
The Celtics were led by Kyrie Irving as he scored 24 points and Jayson Tatum added 20 points. Goran Dragic had a team-high 22 points for the Heat while Josh Richardson and James Johnson both compiled 16 points each.
