The Miami Dolphins played a rare Thursday night game and were blanked by the Baltimore Ravens 40-0 at M&T Bank Stadium. The loss snapped the Dolphins three-game winning streak.
In the first quarter, Baltimore(4-4) moved out to a 7-0 lead at 8:25. Quarterback Joe Flacco threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.
The Ravens scored 17 more points in the second quarter and were up 20-0 by halftime. Justin Tucker connected on field goals from 55 and 48 yards away. Flacco was injured when he slid to the ground and was hit by Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso late in the quarter. Ryan Mallet entered the game for Baltimore and completed to two-yard pass to tight end Benjamin Watson in the end zone with 2:00 left in the second.
Miami(4-3) surrendered 20 more points during the fourth quarter. Linebacker C.J. Mosley made an interception and scored on a 63-yard return at 14:29. The Ravens fumbled the ball into the end zone on a carry and wide receiver Chris Moore recovered it for a touchdown at the 6:45 mark. Defensive back Jimmy Smith later intercepted a ball and returned it 50 yards for a score with 4:38 remaining in the fourth to make it 40-0.
