The Miami Heat pulled away from the Atlanta Hawks with a 104-93 win on Monday night at American Airlines Arena. It was the second game of a six-game home stand for the Heat.
Miami(2-1) started out on an 18-10 run and led 26-23 after one quarter. The Heat outscored the Hawks 36-21 in the second quarter and were up 62-44 at halftime.
Atlanta(1-3) cut the deficit down from double digits with a 29-15 spurt and were down 77-73 after three quarters. The Hawks tied the contest 77-77 in the first two minutes of the fourth. The Heat responded with a 9-2 run and never looked back.
Josh Richardson had a team-high 21 points for the Heat. Wayne Ellington added 20 points while Goran Dragic compiled 19 points and six assists. Kent Bazemore and Taurean Prince both had 20 points each for Atlanta.
